Our Official Game Launcher Rankings
The good old days of buying a game at your local store, running home. popping it into the disk tray, and making a tall glass of chocolate milk while it installs are long gone. Flash sales, instant wallet transactions, and free games dangled in our faces is the new normal. I’m not complaining, about the games…but the launcher situation is getting out of control.
How many of these can you list off hand?
- S Tier: Steam
- A Tier: Minecraft
- B Tier: Amazon Games, GOG Galaxy, Epic Games
- C Tier: Rockstar, Battle.net, Microsoft Store, Jagex
- D Tier: Paradox, 2K, EA, Xbox, Quest VR
- F Tier: Origin, Roblox, Frontier, Sony PlayStation, UPlay
As it stands, almost every major publisher has their own game launcher. Even when you buy a game from another marketplace, the launcher sometimes has to start in the background to open the game! It’s not efficient, it’s not fun, and it’s certainly wasting precious system resources and affecting my ability to get headshots.
After taking the time to compile this list together, a friend of mine pointed out a few additional launchers and as far as I’m concerned they are not even rankable. More launchers is not what the people want.
So, as you can see, I have taken the liberty of ranking the launchers on my various computers S-F. S being superior in every way, and F…well fucking terrible. And if that wasn’t enough, you can find out which game launcher you are below. The truth may shake you to your very core.
